Terms of Service
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SMSHook mobile application ("the App"), operated by SMSHook ("we", "us", or "our").
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not download, install, or use the App.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Description of the App
SMSHook is a utility application that forwards incoming SMS (text messages) from your mobile device to a webhook URL that you configure. The App runs locally on your device and sends data directly to the endpoint you specify.
SMSHook does not operate any server infrastructure to receive, store, or process your SMS data. We do not have access to your messages, your forwarding configuration, or any other data generated by your use of the App.
The App provides a free tier limited to 5 forwarded messages. Continued use beyond this limit requires a paid subscription or one-time purchase.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
If you are using the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
4. User Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for: (a) configuring and maintaining your own webhook endpoint; (b) ensuring that your endpoint and its use comply with all applicable laws, including data protection and privacy laws in your jurisdiction; (c) the content of SMS messages forwarded through the App; and (d) keeping your device and the App updated to the latest available version.
You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purpose, including but not limited to: harassment, fraud, sending spam, interception of communications without consent, or any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations.
You acknowledge that the reliability of SMS forwarding depends on factors outside our control, including your device state, network connectivity, mobile carrier services, and platform restrictions imposed by your device's operating system.
5. In-App Purchases
The App offers in-app purchases for a monthly subscription and a lifetime license. Prices are displayed within the App and are subject to change. Any price changes will be communicated before they take effect.
All purchases are processed through the respective platform's billing system — Google Play Billing for Android devices and Apple StoreKit for iOS devices. We do not collect or store your payment information.
Refund requests are subject to the refund policies of Google Play or the Apple App Store, as applicable. We are unable to process refunds directly.
If you uninstall the App, your purchase status is retained and can be restored after reinstalling. Use the "Restore Purchases" option in the App to recover your purchase.
6. Intellectual Property
The App, including its code, design, name, and logo, is the intellectual property of SMSHook. These Terms do not grant you any rights to the App's source code, trademarks, or other proprietary materials.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App, nor reverse-engineer or attempt to extract its source code, unless expressly permitted by applicable law.
7. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data. Please review the Privacy Policy available on our website.
To summarize: SMSHook does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data or SMS content to any server we control. All forwarding data is sent directly from your device to the webhook URL you provide.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the App will function uninterrupted, securely, or error-free. SMS forwarding may be affected by device conditions, operating system restrictions, network availability, and third-party services.
We make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or timeliness of SMS forwarding. Forwarding may be delayed or may fail due to circumstances beyond our control.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SMSHook and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by applicable law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SMSHook from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of: (a) your use of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) the content you transmit through the App.
11. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease. Sections regarding intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification shall survive termination.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, the dispute shall be submitted to the competent court in the jurisdiction where SMSHook is located.
These Terms are published in both English and Chinese. In the event of any conflict or discrepancy between the two versions, the Chinese version shall prevail.
